Sonko Flexes Muscles in New Sweeping Changes


  • Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is definitely not hindered by the pending graft charges against him after a letter from his office emerged, reporting a restructure of the county administration.

    Dated Thursday, January 30, the governor effected the changes in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya and the County Government Act, 2012.

    In the reshuffle, Newton Munene was appointed to the ICT and E-government docket, Charles Kerich made a comeback to the Lands, Urban Planning and Housing department, Allan Igambi -Finance and Economic Planning, Hitan Majevdia- Health, Lucia Mulwa- Education, Youth and Sports, Larry Wambua- Environment Water Energy and Natural resources

    Veska Kangogo- Devolution and Public Service, Karen Nyamu – Agriculture, George Fredrick- Trade Commerce, Cooperatives and Tourism, Leboo Morintat maintained his position as county secretary, Peter Kamau Mugo as the Chief of Staff and Lydia Kwamboka as the county attorney
