Peace accord: Matawalle facilitates rescue of 11 kidnapped victims in Zamfara

Gov Matawalle of Zamfara State has facilitated the unconditional release of eleven kidnapped victims through the carrot and stick initiative of his administration.

The Governor received the rescued kidnapped victims at the Government House in Gusau, the state capital.

The victims were ten males and a female all from Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State.

He assured that his administration will not rest on its oar until total peace is achieved in all parts of the state.

The Governor further explained that, the peace accord and reconciliation process with repentant bandits will be sustained in the state, pointing out that those unrepentant bandits would face the full wrath of the law.

Earlier, the State Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran told the Governor that, the victims were released as a result of the Governor’s peace initiative and following a stakeholders meeting summoned by Governor Matawalle with all the critical stakeholders from Bukkuyum local Government Area.

The rescued victims expressed delight and gratitude to Governor Bello Matawalle whom they described as the peace maker and bridge-builder between all the categories of people in the state.

“Zamfara state is very much tired of all these killings and kidnappings everywhere because it has become a source of shame to a state that first implemented the Shari’a legal system in the whole country” he lamented.
