The match also saw the end of an impressive streak of consecutive appearances from Amakhosi’s 32-year-old defender, Daniel Cardoso.

The match against Matsatsantsa was the first time since Kaizer Chiefs’ final match of the 2018/19 season against Chippa United on 11 May 2019 that Daniel Cardoso did not start a league game for Amakhosi.

That meant that Daniel Cardoso had started Kaizer Chiefs’ last 46 league matches.
