Throughout his career, Michael Jordan worn a variety of sneakers, including the Air Jordan 17 Low. Overall, this is a silhouette that most fans have forgotten about. This is largely due to Jordan’s lackluster tenure with the Washington Wizards.
Furthermore, people are drawn to Tinker Hatfield’s works from the 1990s. Having said that, the Jordan 17 is still a fantastic silhouette with a lot of potential. There have been some interesting colorways and great PEs over the years.
Subsequently, it seems like Jordan Brand is looking to bring this sneaker back. It has been 20 years since we last saw the Air Jordan 17 and the Air Jordan 17 Low. Consequently, now seems to be a good time to start thinking about some retros. Although we haven’t gotten anything in terms of in-hand or rendered teasers, sneakerfiles.com and @zsneakerheadz seem to have the scoop. In 2024, the Air Jordan 17 Low “Lightning” will return. Firstly, this shoe is mostly made with a white upper. Secondly, the midsole is a mix of yellow and black, which is where the “Lightning” moniker ultimately comes from. Additionally, we get some nice black on the cuff of the sneaker. This is actually a sock cuff, which is fairly unique for a Jumpman shoe. Overall, it is a cool shoe that shouldn’t be discarded just because it’s not an Air Jordan 1. Hopefully, fans come around on this oftentimes forgotten about silhouette.
For now, all that is known about the release of this shoe is that it is supposed to take place in the Spring of next year. However, this has yet to be confirmed by the likes of Jordan Brand.
