THE ATTACKED COMMITTED SUICIDE AFTER THE FATAL ATTACK
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said it is alleged that at approximately 19:00, in Mpongololo Street, Joe Slovo, the woman, and a man had an argument.
“During the argument, the man attacked her with a hammer. The woman sustained serious facial injuries and died on the scene.”
Van Rensburg said after the attack, it is further alleged that the man hanged himself.
“A suicide note was found. He was identified as Xolisa Gcwekana (32).”

Meanwhile, a 34-year old male nurse who resides at the hospital nurses’ residence within the hospital premises was stabbed to death in an alleged love triangle.
THE FATAL STABBING HAPPENED IN THE EARLY HOURS OF SATURDAY
Eastern Cape Health MEC Nomakhosazana Meth has expressed shock and sadness at the brutal killing of an Enrolled Nursing Assistant at Zithulele Hospital early on Saturday morning.
“The 34-year old male nurse who resides at the hospital nurses’ residence within the hospital premises was stabbed to death allegedly by his girlfriend’s second boyfriend from the local community.”
According to the report, it was during the early hours of Saturday when the deceased, his girlfriend, and the roommate in the adjacent bedroom heard a big bang on the door.
“The roommate went out to investigate and opened the door. It is alleged that the culprit stormed inside searching for his girlfriend, and a fight erupted. The fight ended in the fatal stabbing of the health official.
“The roommate went on to call hospital security, who found the deceased on the floor, bleeding and rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead.
