Malema and Ramaphosa – two peas in a pod?
The pair, though seemingly political opposites at times, apparently have quite a ‘chilled relationship’ with each other. That’s what Malema told Kaya FM on Tuesday, anyway. Just minutes after confirming the EFF would look to force the Constitutional Court to expose Ramaphosa’s CR17 bak statements, Juju revealed the love he has for Cyril:
“I was never close to President Zuma by the way. You know, the first time I went to Nkandla is when I went to have tea earlier this year. I never had President Zuma’s cellphone number, and I have never spoken to him on the cellphone – but I have got Cyril’s number – and I speak to Cyril on the phone quite regularly.” | Julius Malema
Juju discusses his own presidential popularity contest
Take that, Mr. Zuma! Indeed, this ‘Killing Eve‘ dynamic going on between Julius Malema and Cyril Ramaphosa is a little puzzling. But, although the pair disagree on almost every political matter possible, they do find some middle ground:
“If you were to compare the relations I had with Zuma and with Cyril, I am closer to Cyril than I am to President Zuma. We can have a chilled discussion with Cyril anytime and disagree… but we have got that type of a relationship”
- – Furthermore, in this little ‘popularity contest’, Juju stated that he avoided some of Zuma’s end-of-year parties. Ouch…
MALEMA: Remember, during our term in the YL, Zuma used to throw parties every end of the year – and we took a conscious decision (myself and Mbalula) that we shouldn’t go there and be seen to be part of the plates and furniture of president Zuma because we are not that.
