Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba has issued directives to contractors manning various state government projects across the state to speed up work.
The directive which came through his Commissioner of Works, Irmiya Hammanjulde, is to ensure that the projects are ready and commissioned before the expiration of the governor’s tenure in 2023.
The commissioner who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Jalingo said the governor had vowed to complete and commission all ongoing projects before 2023,
He said the governor plans to award more rural road contracts across the state, to allow for effective access to local agricultural commodities to boost the economy of the state.
He said, “I have taken a tour across all ongoing road projects, the contractors are trying but we want them to try harder to meet up with the projects stipulated time limit for commission.”
