    KCSE Candidate Destroys Police Vehicle While Escaping Exam

  • A KCSE candidate in Kiambu county ran away from an examination centre destroying a police vehicle in the process.

    According to a police report seen by Muhabarishaji.com, the incident occurred at Karigu-ini Mixed Secondary School when the student refused to be frisked before starting the exam paper of the day which was CRE Paper 1.

    The officer manning the exam centre noted that the student did not have a face mask and upon questioning the boy, he got confrontational.

    The boy is alleged to have hurled abusive words at the officer causing a commotion.

    The scene disrupted the examination preparation exercise for a while with another officer walking into the room to find out what was happening.

    When the other officer got to the examination room, the student fled. On his way out of the compound, he is reported to have picked up a stone and hit the windscreen of a police land cruiser that was parked outside.

    The police report disclosed that the student managed to get away from the centre has caused destruction.

    The officers at the centre managed to restore normalcy in the centre with the other students managing to sit for the paper in time.

    Incidences of KCSE students acting out during the exam period have been reported in different parts of the country.

    On April 6, a nervous KCSE candidate tried to run away from the exam room during the administration of the Mathematics Paper Two test. 

    The school principal was forced to run after the disheartened student and caught up with him near the school fence.

    The principal revealed he gave the student a cup of milk to calm his nerves and persuade him to complete the maths paper.
