Magoha Releases Results of 549 KCSE Students After 1 Month

  • Five hundred and forty-nine (549) candidates from Oriwa Boys High School have finally received their 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results after a month of waiting.

The Homa Bay county school had its results withheld when Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, released the examination results on Saturday, April 23.

The school’s results were withheld after Magoha noted that his Ministry had received reports of malpractices and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) had to investigate the matter further.

The school is located at Kandiege in Rachuonyo North Sub County, Homa Bay County.

Out of the 549 candidates who sat for the exams, 521 attained a university admission grade of C+ (plus). Only twenty-eight (28) of the students did not attain the minimum university admission grade.

Oriwo Boys High School principal, Maurice Ouma, noted that parents and students were impressed following the release of the results.

During the release of the results last month, Magoha noted that cases of malpractice had reduced drastically in the country.

He applauded top officials from the Ministry of Education for ensuring the exams were conducted in an organised way.

Magoha announced that 1,138 scored a mead grade of A while 145,000 students attained a mean grade of C+ and above.

Over 800,000 candidates sat for the national examinations which officially started on March 14.
