Paramedics said a man was killed and at least twenty others injured when their taxi rolled on the R24 between Rustenburg and Magaliesburg on Friday.
BOTH ACCIDENTS HAPPENED AROUND 9 AM ON FRIDAY
According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring paramedics arrived on the scene at around 09h19.

“Paramedics found a wrecked taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road. Several passengers from the vehicle were seen walking around.”
He said local authorities began to close off the road while medics tended to the patients.
“On assessment, medics found that one man had already succumbed to multiple injuries while at least twenty others had sustained minor to serious injuries.
“The patients were treated, and the seriously injured were provided with pain-relief medication before being transported to Rustenburg hospitals for further care.”
Meiring said local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
At around the same time, twenty people were injured in an unrelated accident in Bedfordview.

Meiring said ER24 and the Provincial EMS arrived at 09h19 to find a taxi and light motor vehicle in the middle of the road. Several people were seen seated inside the taxi.
“This morning, twelve people were injured when a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided at the Economides and Van Der Linde intersection in Bedfordview.
“Medics assessed the patients and found that twelve adults had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.”
He said the patients were treated and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
