The popular musician took to his social platforms on Wednesday, September 15, to detail the plight, noting that Janet Karoney suffers from a rare blood disorder known as Severe Aplastic Anaemia.
This is a life-threatening condition where the bone marrow stops producing enough blood for the body. Due to the danger that the disease poses, doctors advocated for a bone marrow transplant as the best treatment for the ailment.
“Unfortunately, the procedure is not available in Kenya, and Janet will need to travel abroad for the transplant,” he stated.
Nyashinski noted that the treatment would take about four to six months before Karoney could return to the country.
“We are appealing for funds as her family and friends to help get her the treatment she urgently needs.
“We know recent times have been really tough on all but any little you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will help towards getting her treatment and back home to her family,” the musician urged.
His counterparts responded to the plea in solidarity as they wished Karoney a quick recovery.
The news comes as radio presenter Alex Mwakideu recently appealed to Kenyans to help his ailing sister offset a Ksh900,000 medical bill.
Mwakideu noted that his sister, Rozinna Mwakideu, had been battling Covid-19 and had been in hospital for nearly a month.
“We thank God that she is now stable and about to be discharged. Due to the costly medication, equipment and special care required, the outstanding medical expenses are Ksh 900,000 on July 31, 2021,” the media personality stated.
