Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has promised striker, Anthony Martial, that he will continue to get his chances to feature for the Red Devils after his side crashed out from this season’s Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Man United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford by the Hammers following Manuel Lanzini’s goal.

Solskjaer handed Martial his second start of the season against West Ham with Cristiano Ronaldo rested, Mason Greenwood among the subs and Edinson Cavani still working his way back to full fitness.

Martial led Man United’s attack line alongside Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard, but the hosts failed to breach the opposition defence.

The France international, however, failed to take his chance and Solskjaer is now refusing to close the door on him.

“I don’t think it is right to go into individual performances. Anto [Anthony Martial] was the same as the rest of the team,” Solskjaer said at his post-match press conference.

“We lacked some of that cutting edge and he knows what we want from him. He’ll keep working and get his chances.”

Man United’s next game is against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
