After such an impeccable opening 45 minutes, its hard to believe that Paris Saint-Germain head to Manchester with it all to do on Tuesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side relinquished a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 in the home leg of their Champions League semi-final, and must now piece together the perfect performance if they wish to make it to two finals in two years in the competition.

Having knocked out Bayern Munich and led against City, being dumped out of the tournament in the last four would be bitterly disappointing. Here’s how Les Parisiens could line up in their attempt to stage a dramatic comeback.

Keylor Navas (GK) – Navas had a disastrous performance in the first leg and must pull himself together in the second. He has the pedigree and CV to help his side turn things around, but has a lot to prove now.

Alessandro Florenzi (RB) – The 30-year-old put in a solid shift until his team crumbled around him last time out. He’ll need to provide some attacking thrust in the second leg with the onus on PSG to get the result.

Marquinhos (CB) – Two goals in two games for the Brazilian centre-back. Perhaps PSG would fare better with some Sunday league tactics by playing Marquinhos as a makeshift forward from the off.

Presnel Kimpembe (CB) – In the week between legs, hopefully Kimpembe has learnt that being in a defensive wall involves not allowing holes in said wall and actually standing in the way of a free kick.

Abdou Diallo (LB) – With nothing to lose, drafting in Diallo over Bakker could be a subtle yet successful shift for PSG. The 24-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season on a personal level.

Ander Herrera (CM) – With Idrissa Gueye suspended, the ex-Manchester United midfielder needs to muster up some hatred from a previous rivalry and use it as fuel for a comeback. A solid performance will put him back in the good books with United fans.

Leandro Paredes (CM) – When he’s good, he’s unbelievable. But when he’s bad, it’s the complete opposite. PSG need Paredes to be on top form in order to break through Manchester City’s press.

Marco Verratti (CM) – Deploying the Italian in a slightly more advanced role proved successful in glimpses. Verratti is key to bringing PSG forward; they must do more to get the ball to him.

    Moise Kean

Angel Di Maria (RW) – Similarly to Herrera, there’s a chance for Di Maria to score some brownie points with United fans here. Because that’s obviously all he cares about. Obviously.

Moise Kean (ST) – Kylian Mbappe missed out in PSG’s weekend victory and looks a real doubt after being filmed limping, despite being included in the squad. Expect Kean to come in in his place, otherwise Pochettino would be taking a huge risk.

Neymar (LW) – If Neymar put half as much effort into taking on players and scoring obscene goals as he does downing tools when the going gets tough, PSG would be through the semi-final with ease. The Brazilian has to take more responsibility if he wishes to reach truly elite levels.
